The cafe’s atmosphere strikes a balance between intimate and casual, with a few outdoor seating options that offer lovely views of the historic furnace site. As Emma Shields shared, even during busy events, the efficient staff managed to serve delicious food and drinks promptly. The friendly vibe is palpable, making every visit feel like a welcome retreat.

However, some patrons, like Ste, pointed out that staffing levels can be a challenge during peak times, particularly when events are occurring at Moira. Yet, this only reflects the cafe’s popularity and the demand for its quality offerings.

For anyone looking to enjoy a slice of comfort, a rich cup of coffee, or a tasty treat, The Hub Cafe promises both heartwarming flavors and genuine hospitality. Stop by and experience the charming essence of this local gem for yourself!

Popped in yesterday, very busy with an event on at the furnace. Served promptly and efficiently by two very pleasant young staff. Food and drinks were great, hot, tasty, good portions and a reasonable cost. Can highly recommend and will visit again soon. Well done all on a busy Sunday..

The café needs more staff, especially when there is an event on at Moira. The young lady serving was having to take orders as well as work the till and make hot drinks. The service is slow at times because of this. If someone is waiting to just buy a drink out of the fridge or an item out of the freezer, then it's wrong to have them wait for someone's coffees to be made. The staff were working incredibly hard and seemed to be snowed under. It's a shame because this could put people off. The food was nice, I recommend the bacon sandwich. There is also seating outside, but it does get busy, so you have to time it right to get a table.

A very nice location for a cafe with a lovely view of what was once a massive furnace. The cafe itself is quite small and doesn’t seat that many. There are 3 or 4 tables outside on a small courtyard/walkway and 4 or 5 tables on a covered area adjacent to the cafe. The staff were friendly and talkative and the coffee was what you would expect for a cappuccino. The prices are comparable to that of a coffee chain (costa etc) so not cheap. There is visitor parking but there’s also parking for tenants. These parking bays are covered by CCTV so be mindful if you’re hoping to park close to the cafe. The parking and access to the cafe are also wheelchair friendly.
